Friday 5th May - Monday 8th May 2012 Maroochydore

We were welcomed warmly by our friends Melissa and Sean and their daughters Ella & Lily. They relocated to QLD from WA a few years ago. QLD is obviously suiting them and they look very happy to be there. For all my asthmatic friends out there - Melissa is so well in the humid climate, much better than when she lived in the dry Perth climate.

Friday was a catch up with school work day. The girls were unimpressed but I held strong and we got through it.
Saturday we went into Brissie for the day. We took the kids to the Museum and the Gallery of Modern Art. Inbetween we enjoyed lunch on the foreshore as there was a Buddah Festival happening close to the museum.

In the afternoon we enjoyed a catch up with my cousins Trish and Cam and their two beautiful boys Angus (10years old) and Xavier (6 years old). As it happened Aunty Gabs was up from Melbourne so we enjoyed a seeing her at the same time. We occasionally get to see Cam in Perth as he works in the mining industry, however Ed had never met Trish and it had been ages since I had seen Trish. We had a lovely afternoon in the park with them and we hope that they all make the trek to Perth soon.

On Sunday we explored the Glass House Mountains. First stop was the Mt Beerburrum Lookout. It was only 700m - however it was very steep. We made it to the top and the views were amazing. You could see for miles! We then did some 4wding around the mountains which was fun followed by lunch at McCarthy's Lookout which had a great view of all the Glass House mountains. We then did some exploring of the Conbidila National Park which had a lovely rainforest walk and waterfall. Loads of people were sunning themselves or swimming in the pools at the bottom of the falls.
