We left Birdsville and it didn’t take long
for us to leave QLD and head into SA again. The track was reasonably good
alothough there were areas that were really dug up by trucks driving through
when the road was wet and muddy. The biggest surprise was how green it was.
We even saw some pretty mixtures of flowers! They looked like everlastings and some sort of daisy. There was also quite a bit of water around off the tracks.

We made our way to our overnight stop – The
Mungeranie Hotel. They had some hot springs there which were fun to soak in after a
day in the car. The girls and I wisely had a warm shower afterwards – something
Ed should of done as after this he started getting a cold. The very cold nights
did not help! Thank God we have thermals otherwise we would be very cold!

We continued down the track the next day
towards Maree. Along the way we unfortunately had a puncture of one of the
trailer tyres (bummer) but it was a nice day down to the end of the track.
When we got into Maree we booked a flight
fo Tuesday afternoon over Lake Eyre. It’s something that I have wanted to do
and although it isn’t full of water I was still keen to do it.
That night we camped out at Muloorina Station which is 50km north of Maree - closer to Lake Eyre. We camped next to a lovely waterhole for a couple of nights.

What a nice place to be!
