Friday 6th April 2012 - Buchan up to McKillops Bridge

The next day we continued up the Barry Way and turned off towards McKillops Bridge. The drive towards our camp site was steep and full of sharp turns and huge drop offs. Ed was concentrating hard and the brakes on the car were given a work out. We stopped at the Little River Falls for a short walk followed by a short drive to the Little River Gorge. The gorge was 4km long and 500m deep.

We then continued on the narrow road towards the Snowy Mountain National Park camp ground. We set up camp had lunch and an explore before we settled down to do some school work. In the afternoon we all had a short swim in the Snowy River close to the shore as the river was moving fast.

We enjoyed a lovely meal cooked over a camp fire with the help of Olivia followed by a yummy damper cooked by Ed. It was quite a warm night - a welcome relief from the cold we had experienced a lot!
