Sunday 4th March 2012 Corinna to Strahan

Despite the constant rain overnight and feeling like wet rats (us and the camper trailer) we enjoyed a walk to see our first Huon pines. Corinna on the Pieman River which was a source of transport for the logging industry in the past. The cafe/bar/reception at Corinna was full of photos showing how they transported the logs down the river to the difficult mouth opening of the river out to the sea.
I forgot to add in this photo from the drive into Corinna - a rainforest walk. How did Thomas ever see
 where he was going!!!!

The beautiful Pieman River

We then caught the ferry across the river to continue on down to Strahan.

The ferry ride. $25 for a 5 minute ride across the river. Ed said, 'what a rip off!'

We had another lovely drive down south to Strahan despite the continued rain. Unlike the drive into Corinna Olivia didn't get car sick. Thank goodness! We made it into Strahan and headed straight for the laundromat. I stayed there while Ed took the kids for lunch out to some sand dunes out of town. There was quite a bit of washing to get down. Boring!!!!!
We camped in town at the golf course (Ed had a hit a few balls around the course) and got organised for a boat trip down the Gordon River. It continued to rain on and off all night. We had an early night as we had to get up and pack up the tent to get on the boat by 8.15am.
We are a bit sick of being wet!!!!! Feels like it is never going to end!
